What windows do you offer?
We offer several replacement window options, including Pella, Burris, NT Windows, Simonton, and MI. Based on your objectives, we'll help you find the right window for you.
Why is installation so important?
Installation is a critical part of any window replacement project. Incorrect installation can lead to reduced energy efficiency, poor operation, water damage, warranty issues, and more.
Our team carefully measures to the one-eighth inch for an optimal fit, removes the old window with care, installs the new window, insulates with foam (as needed), and seals with top-quality adhesive sealant to ensure maximum performance, no leaks, and longevity.
What do new windows cost?
We believe that offering a fair, straightforward price is the right way to do business. Our pricing is based on our cost from the manufacturer plus a reasonable margin to cover our costs of doing and maintaining our business. A good rule of thumb for a whole house of vinyl windows is $750-1,200 per window, depending on size, color, and options.
A few differentiators for Grapevine Windows:
-We do not play games with "buy one get one" deals or offer massive discounts. These are tricks used by some of our competitors to manipulate potential buyers - and we don't think that is the right way to do business.
-We do not ever pressure potential clients to sign now.
-We do not push any particular brand, style, or material - we work with you to determine the right solution.
What do I need to look for in a new window?
There is a lot of "noise" that is designed to confuse buyers. New windows will perform better than your current windows, but how much better and for how long? Builder-grade and big-box windows tend to fail more quickly and should not be expected to provide long-term peace of mind. Higher quality options, on the other hand, can be just a bit more expensive but offer much better quality, performance, customer support, and long-term peace of mind. In our view, the highest price windows typically do not present a value, but can be a great option in the right application.
Every window we recommend, coupled with our award-winning service, provides competitive, long-term performance and peace of mind you can count on.
Technical considerations:
-Window Frames - you can't go wrong with top-grade vinyl, fiberglass, or aluminum-clad wood frame materials. Top-grade vinyl is an excellent choice for most homes in our area. Fiberglass, due to its rigidity, is a great option for large window sizes and aluminum-clad wood is great for historic and high-end applications. For vinyl windows, non-recycled vinyl, clean fusion welds, and a metal-reinforced sash for wider windows are a must for frame strength and long-term durability.
-Glass - we recommend double-strength, double-paned, insulated Low-E glass units. Not all glass units are created equal, however. Less expensive builder-grade and big-box companies insulate and seal their own glass units which, according to recent data, have seal failure (e.g., fogged glass) rates that are FOUR TIMES HIGHER than glass units insulated and sealed by the glass producer (e.g., Cardinal) in their controlled facility. Pella and Burris are two of the few manufacturers that offer these better performing glass units.
-U Value - effectiveness as an insulator between hot and cold; look for <0.29. Lower is better, but the trade-offs to achieve the lowest number, including cost and less natural light, may not be worth it based on your priorities.
-Solar Heat Gain Coefficient - the fraction of solar radiation transmitted; look for <0.23. Lower is better, but the trade-offs to achieve the lowest number, including cost and less natural light, may not be worth it based on your priorities.
-Warranty - Reputable manufacturers offer a lifetime warranty on the frame and at least 20 years on the glass seals. Standard limitations include acts of God and intentional damage. A one-year installation warranty is standard.
What can I expect throughout the process?
